We have the opportunity for a dynamic Engineering Technician to take an active role in supporting our continued success. (please see attached Work Perks Guide) The role of Engineering Technician will involve but is not limited to: Supporting Lecturers in various delivery, including Fabrication and Welding, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electrical Installation. Preparing materials for practical sessions. Ordering of materials and stock monitoring / rotation. Checking deliveries and taking responsibility for storing. Disposal of waste materials into skips and arranging collection. Basic maintenance of machinery (training provided if required). Security of storage containers and other storage areas. Security of loading bay and other related areas. Organising external maintenance companies for regular visits. Some supervision of learners / external visitors on occasion. Our successful candidate will have/be the following: Knowledge of relevant codes of practice and awareness of current health and safety regulations and relevant legislation. Experience of maintaining high safety standards. An approachable manner with a ‘Can do’ attitude. Self-motivated Team player, likewise, able to work alone too. ICT skills, i.e. Microsoft suite. Essential Qualifications : Level 2 Maths and English or willingness to work towards within a given timescale. Desirable Qualifications: Forklift licence (training can be provided).
