Description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a respected care homes in Edinburgh for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porters/Catering Assistants to support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in cleanliness and organisation, and who wants to play an important role in a care based setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all kitchen and food preparation areas are kept clean, tidy, and compliant with hygiene standards
2. Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using appropriate cleaning methods
3. Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation as directed
4. Manage waste disposal and ensure cleanliness of bins and waste areas
5. Support stock rotation and help with the unpacking and storing of deliveries
6. Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health and safety in line with care home regulations
Ideal Candidate:
7. Hardworking and dependable with a positive, team-oriented attitude
8. Able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
9. Willing to learn and follow clear procedures and training
10. Previous experience in a kitchen or care setting is helpful but not essential
