About the role
We are seeking a Senior Actuary to play a pivotal role in shaping our reserving strategies and delivering impactful insights to senior stakeholders. Reporting to the Head of GI Reserving, you will lead the quarterly reserving process, ensuring accurate and comprehensive reports for committees such as the Reserving and Audit Committees. The role involves managing a team of actuaries and analysts, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment, and overseeing both technical and strategic initiatives.
You will serve as the primary contact for external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators, providing expertise on reserving methodologies and assumptions to ensure compliance. Additionally, you will contribute to company-wide projects, drive process improvements, and collaborate with pricing, claims, and other departments to deliver data-driven solutions. This position is based at our Tiddington Head Office, near Stratford-Upon-Avon. We support work-life balance by offering excellent office facilities and the flexibility to work up to 80% from home.
About you
You will be a fully qualified actuary with significant post-qualification experience in General Insurance (GI) Reserving. Your strong technical skills are complemented by proven leadership and team management abilities. You have excellent stakeholder management skills, engaging effectively with internal teams and external parties such as auditors and regulators.
You can clearly present complex actuarial concepts, influencing decision-making at senior levels. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled at balancing strategic oversight with operational demands. Proficiency in reserving software ResQ, SQL, and Excel is essential.

Additional requirements include:
* An honours degree (2:1 or above) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with significant mathematical content.
* Fully qualified Actuary (FIA or FFA).
* Strong analytical skills for solving complex business problems using statistical methods.
* Knowledge of current industry developments and regulatory frameworks.
* Deep understanding of actuarial techniques.
* Proven actuarial judgment based on pragmatic business assessments.
* Ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
