We are looking for a nurse experienced in working with learning disabilities/mental health with a level head who is aware of the pressures of a busy community environment to support and guide staff. We are looking for a strong and proven leader who can take responsibility for decisions and support junior members of the team. The way we care for people with Learning Disabilities in Suffolk is changing at NSFT as we have recently benefited from £1.3 million of investment which has recently physically transformed our inpatient facilities. The Learning Disability and Autism Specialist Service is not only being invested in financially, with a fresh approach to ideas and service delivery being supported by the Trust, we are confident our new model of care is the very best for the people we care for. This role in-particular is to lead and manage our 2 LD Community Teams in Suffolk. The teams are very patient-focused and highly skilled at managing and supporting a caseload of people with complex needs who are presenting with deteriorating mental health and/or challenging behaviour. The multidisciplinary teams work pro-actively with each individual to support them along their recovery journey. Main duties of the job: communication is key, we pride ourselves on our services being co-produced. We are therefore looking for someone who can communicate in a professional manner with a wide spectrum of people to achieve the best outcome for our patients. Most importantly and in keeping with our Trust values, we are looking for someone who has exceptional people skills as this role requires you to make difficult decisions whilst having to maintain professional relationships. We are looking for someone who sees themselves as a ‘compassionate leader’ and can demonstrate how to positively lead the team to maintain an excellent quality of care.
