An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for a portfolio of clients. This includes end-to-end payroll preparation and thorough payroll checking to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with current legislation. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will resolve client and employee queries, prepare statutory and third-party reports, and ensure all payroll outputs meet agreed service levels.
The role will suit an experienced payroll specialist or someone with strong payroll administration experience looking to step up into a payroll specialist role. This is a fast-paced role managing the end-to-end payroll of multiple client payrolls. You will be working alongside the wider payroll team at CE Global Partners providing support to team members where required. This is a full‑time position although part‑time hours would be considered.

Job Purpose
* To manage payroll inbox and respond to queries from HR, Managers, Employees, Third Party Suppliers.
* Prepare payroll imports and changes on time and upload them to the payroll system.
* To review payroll data including manual checks, NMW compliance, and prepare sign‑off reports.
* Prepare and upload third‑party reports.
* To ensure payroll compliance.
* To complete annual payroll tasks including year‑end processing, P11D submissions, and PSA reporting.
* Generating reports as required.
* Recognise and suggest ideas for clients in ways that can help support their staff or business where appropriate.
* Use Workday Payroll to input, validate, and process payroll data, ensuring accuracy and alignment with workflow controls.
* Support Workday‑related payroll inquiries, integrations, and system updates.
Knowledge
* Understand and complete manual payroll calculations.
* Payroll regulations including ITEPTA, Pension regulations, WTR, and AWR.
* Data Protection.
* NMW.
* Knowledge of and calculations of statutory payments.
* Understand and administer employee benefits and expenses.
* Understanding of termination and redundancy payments along with effective management of earnings for NI and Tax purposes.
* Understanding of pension schemes including salary sacrifice schemes.
* Understanding of Directors NI.Understanding of SIP schemes and LTIPs.
* Knowledge of Workday Payroll functionality (e.g., HCM data flows, payroll inputs, pay components, integrations).
You will require the following skills:
Required Skills
* Strong mathematics skills and the ability to carry out manual payroll calculations.
* Ability to run manual payroll calculations to include tax, NIC, student loans, and pension deductions.
* Ability to process payroll from end to end including year‑end procedures.
* Ability to use Excel including use of formulas including v look‑ups and pivot tables.
* Strong written and verbal communication.
* Ideally, hold a relevant payroll qualification.
* Experience of IRIS Payroll Professional is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
* Workday Payroll experience is essential, with the ability to navigate, process, audit, and troubleshoot payroll within the Workday platform.
