We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Project Lead to join a leading international contractor delivering a major hyperscale data centre project in the Newcastle area. This is a key leadership position on a large-scale, turnkey data centre development with a project value in excess of several hundred million pounds. Reporting to a Project Director the successful candidate will take full responsibility for the delivery of the project from construction through commissioning and final handover. While previous data centre experience is highly desirable, we are also keen to speak with candidates from Tier 1 main contractor backgrounds who have successfully delivered large-scale projects within the industrial, logistics, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, commercial, or mission-critical sectors. Responsibilities Lead the overall delivery of a major turnkey data centre project. Report directly to the Project Director / Operations Director. Manage and coordinate all aspects of construction delivery, including CSA, M&E, commissioning, and client handover. Provide leadership to a large multidisciplinary site team. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders. Drive project performance and oversee all commercial, operational, and programme objectives. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements. Requirements Proven experience in a Senior Project Manager, Project Lead, Project Director, or similar leadership role. Strong background working for a Tier 1 or major international contractor. Experience delivering large-scale construction projects valued at £100m. Data centre experience is preferred but not essential. Candidates with experience in logistics, industrial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, commercial, or other complex construction projects will also be considered. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong understanding of CSA, M&E, commissioning, and project delivery processes.
