As a certified nurse or paramedic, you can pursue a career within the criminal justice system, providing high‑quality healthcare to detainees in police custody suites.
Responsibilities
* Deliver medical care to detainees, ensuring safety and quality of treatment.
* Work in collaboration with Police to provide 24/7 coverage in custody suites.
* Adapt to a flexible schedule, covering base custody sites and assignments across the Police Custody Suites region.
* Operate in fixed shift patterns: 06:45–19:00 for day shifts and 18:45–07:00 for night shifts, with a rota of 2 days on, 8 days off, 2 nights, 4 days off.
* Participate in rolling rota arrangements available up to 2 years in advance.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered Nurse (RN), Registered General Nurse (RGN), or Registered Midwife (RMN) with dual registration – minimum 2 years post‑qualification (Band 5 or above).
* Paramedic – minimum 2 years post‑qualification.
* Driving licence required.
* Right to work in the UK, British passport or ILR for 3 years (no gaps out of the country exceeding 3 months).
* All candidates must undergo Police Vetting.
* Must be able to work full shifts; part‑time staff must accommodate some night shifts.
Salary & Benefits
* Annual salary: £20,500.
* £500 bonus upon completion of 12 months service.
* Estimated overtime: £3,500 per annum.
