The Role:
Our Stores Person plays a crucial role in the smooth running of the kitchen by receiving and managing food deliveries, ensuring all items meet order specifications and quality standards. You will support the wider kitchen team by maintaining stock levels, organising deliveries efficiently, and ensuring food is handled and stored in line with safety guidelines. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will help reduce waste and maintain high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Check food deliveries for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
* Store and handle all food items safely, supporting smooth kitchen operations.
* Maintain clean, organised work areas and manage stock to reduce waste.
* Report equipment or facility issues promptly to the Head Chef.
* Actively join pre/post-service briefings and training sessions.
* Uphold professional presentation, teamwork, and a positive, guest-focused attitude.
What We Desire:
We are seeking a proactive and well-organised individual with strong attention to detail, particularly in the handling and receipt of food deliveries. Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is highly desirable, as is knowledge of food safety practices including HACCP and COSHH regulations. You should be capable of working independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently, and able to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues.
A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred, alongside a genuine interest in maintaining food safety and quality. Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude towards learning and development are all key qualities we value in our ideal candidate.
