About the role
Liquid Personnel has an exciting opportunity for an established Family Assessment Worker to join a Family Assessment Centre within Birmingham. You will work with families daily, observing and recording parents’ abilities to meet immediate safety and care needs of children.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure the safety and welfare of children remains central to the assessment/intervention process.
2. Participate actively in the assessment process regarding children and families – observe, supervise, record, and assess family interactions, child behaviour, parental motivation, and parental ability to meet the needs of the children.
3. Contribute to team meetings to review and develop practices, provision, and resources within the Centre.
4. Use sensitivity and common sense in challenging and teaching parenting practices.
5. Provide structured feedback to parents during and after shifts.
6. Plan and prioritize workload effectively, meeting deadlines for written recordings.
7. Observe and implement Child Protection Procedures and Centre policies.
8. Provide evidence in court if specific incidents are observed.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience working with adults and/or families or in a similar setting.
* Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or Health and Social Care (desirable).
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Empathy for vulnerable children and families.
* Patience and a calm demeanor.
