Advanced youth offending service officer

Offer description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Redbridge to assist with the appointment of a Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer, on a 6-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £26.50 - £34.22 per hour

Responsibilities:

* Manage youth justice cases in line with National Standards and the HMIP Inspection Framework.
* Use AssetPlus to carry out assessments and develop action-oriented, desistance-focused plans.
* Prepare and present high-quality Pre-Sentence Reports, Stand-Down Reports, and Referral Order Panel reports for court and other relevant forums.
* Represent the Youth Justice and Targeted Prevention Service (YJTPS) in court proceedings and panels.
* Engage with children and young people and deliver tailored interventions, individually or in groups, to reduce offending and encourage positive behaviour.

Requirements:

* Qualified Social Worker (registered with Social Work England) or equivalent social care qualification.
* Proven experience in youth offending services or equivalent social care setting.
* Strong working knowledge of AssetPlus, youth justice legislation, court processes, and safeguarding procedures.
* Understanding of trauma-informed, restorative, and child-focused approaches.
* Excellent communication, report writing, and multi-agency collaboration skills.

* You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
* You should have right to work in U.K
* This role requires an Enhanced DBS
