Overview
We are looking for a full-time enthusiastic nurse at Pinderfields Hospital, offering a varied and rewarding opportunity for Registered Nurses to provide high-quality care to patients in an Outpatient setting. The role involves assisting with patient assessments and physiological observations, coordinating appointments, and supporting clinical staff in delivering specialised services across various medical and surgical specialties. Professionals in this setting support vital checks, assist with diagnostic tests, chaperone, and ensure that patients receive timely treatments. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential in a fast-paced clinic environment to manage patient flow. The main base is Pinderfields Hospital, with outpatient services running at Pontefract and Dewsbury; covering these sites is generally infrequent.
Responsibilities
* Assist with patient assessments and physiological observations.
* Coordinate appointments and support the flow of clinics.
* Chaperone and assist with minor procedures within the department.
* Prepare clinic rooms with required equipment and manage stock.
* Support clinicians of varied specialisms and help with diagnostic tests.
* Undertake physiological measurements and maintain accurate clinic records; report to clinicians.
* Provide support and reassurance to patients and carers/family; preserve privacy and dignity at all times.
* Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold Trust values and behaviours in all tasks.
* Assist patients within and to other departments as required.
* Remain flexible to support clinic flow and patient care across sites as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
* Registered Nurse (nursing qualification required).
* Full-time availability; Monday to Friday service covering clinics from 8am–6pm, with occasional later finishes due to delays or admissions.
* Strong communication and organisational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced clinic environment.
