We are supporting a growing defence technology company in their search for a Guidance, Control & Navigation Engineer. This role focuses on designing and implementing advanced algorithms for high-performance autonomous aerial platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) algorithms, with a focus on skid-to-turn (STT) control for agile manoeuvring and precision targeting.
* Design and implement mission logic and targeting behaviours using Behaviour Trees.
* Prototype and validate algorithms using Python and its scientific libraries.
* Integrate, test, and deploy GNC software on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems and flight hardware using the PX4 autopilot stack.
* Analyse simulation and flight test data to refine algorithm performance.
Requirements
* Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s/PhD desirable).
* Strong expertise in skid-to-turn guidance and control.
* Advanced Python programming skills.
* Experience developing autonomous behaviours with Behaviour Trees.
* Hands-on experience with the PX4 flight control stack.
* Solid foundation in control theory, vehicle dynamics, and state estimation (e.g., Kalman filters).
