Overview
Are you experienced in supporting individuals with additional needs and looking to make a meaningful impact in a school setting? Axcis Education is currently recruiting for full-time 1:1 support staff to work in secondary schools across Altrincham, supporting students with SEND needs such as autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD and more complex learning profiles. This role is ideal for someone with a background in education, youth work, or care, who is confident working in a structured setting and passionate about helping young people thrive.
About the Role
You’ll be based within a secondary school classroom, providing 1:1 support to a student with additional needs – helping them to engage in learning, manage their emotions, and access the curriculum effectively. You’ll work under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher, contributing to progress tracking and adapting your support to meet the student’s daily needs.
Who We’re Looking For
* Experience working with young people with SEND – particularly ASD, SEMH or complex needs
* Background in education, residential care, youth support, or social care
* Calm, patient and proactive in approach – able to build strong relationships with students
* Comfortable liaising with SENCOs and classroom staff as part of a wider support team
* Willingness to apply for an Enhanced DBS if not already on the Update Service
