Ecology Director

Principal, Associate, Senior or Technical level

Ecology Team Leader for people, projects, and nature-based solutions for lasting impact.


Location: Greater Manchester, UK

Working Arrangement: Flexible hybrid

Part time or Full time considered

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum negotiable


Cura Terrae Land & Nature are seeking an Ecology Director for Manchester to lead the team.

Work within energy and renewables, transport infrastructure, water, commercial and residential development.

The Role – Associate Director - Ecologist


As an Associate Director, you will collaborate with technical specialists, mentor junior team members, and engage with clients to provide expert advice.


* Lead a team of excellent ecologists from graduate to senior level in Manchester
* Collaborate with the Sheffield ecology team on projects across the north of the UK
* Own the financials within the Manchester ecology team
* Lead and deliver ecological surveys, including protected species & habitat assessments at sign off stage.
* Manage ecological projects from inception to completion
* Support and mentor junior ecologists, fostering growth and sharing your expertise.
* Contribute to business development by building relationships with clients and identifying new opportunities.
* Engage with multidisciplinary teams to deliver nature-based solutions that leave a lasting impact.


You will be an experienced ecology leader with a solid understanding of UK environmental legislation, habitat assessments, and protected species surveys.


Experience required:

* Degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
* Experience leading a team
* Experience in managing projects
* Mentoring & training team members
* Previous involvement in the financial & commercial elements of projects
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build solid client relationships
* A proactive attitude with a passion for promoting sustainable solutions
* UK Driving Licence
