An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CT Case Officer (CTCO) to work within the Counter Terrorism Unit in the South East (CTPSE) under the Prevent Strand of the United Kingdom’s Counter-Terrorism strategy (CONTEST). You will connect CT policing, neighbourhood policing and communities to stop individuals being exploited by extremists; work with local authority partners and community organisations to help find solutions and support and protect people vulnerable to radicalisation.
Responsibilities
* Case Management: assess and manage cases, refer suitable cases to Local Authority led management, and coordinate between organisations including Channel Coordinators.
* Engagement: act as a community contact for counter terrorism consequence management and deliver Prevent training across the policing family.
* Police Support: explore opportunities for investigation or prosecution of individuals of interest for non-TACT offences, and provide disruptive capacity to CT Policing-led operations.
* Safeguarding: support frontline staff with safeguarding and collaboration with partners; maintain strong safeguarding background as advantageous.
Qualifications and requirements
* Full UK driving licence is required.
* Security Vetting: ability to obtain and maintain SC level vetting. You must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or diplomatic service (with HM Government) or studying abroad.
* Strong communication skills and proven risk management ability.
* Hybrid/agile and flexible working opportunities are available.

* Travel may be required across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK.
