About the Role We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and values‑driven Team Manager to lead our Learning Disability and Autism (LDA) social work team within Adult Social Care. This is a pivotal leadership role focused on delivering high‑quality, person‑centred practice that supports adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults to live fulfilling, independent, and safe lives. You will oversee a team of social workers and practitioners, providing professional leadership, reflective supervision, and operational management. Your work will ensure that statutory duties are met, strengths‑based approaches are embedded, and individuals and families experience compassionate, effective support. Key Responsibilities • Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled social work team, promoting a culture of high standards, learning, and continuous improvement. • Ensure timely and effective responses to safeguarding concerns, complex casework, and risk management. • Oversee the delivery of Care Act assessments, support planning, reviews, and Mental Capacity Act decision‑making. • Champion strengths‑based, person‑centred practice that promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing. • Work collaboratively with health partners, providers, carers, and community organisations to deliver integrated and innovative support. • Monitor performance, quality, and compliance, ensuring the team meets statutory requirements and organisational priorities. • Contribute to service development, transformation projects, and strategic planning across Adult Social Care. About You We are looking for someone who brings both professional expertise and compassionate leadership. You will be: • A qualified social worker registered with Social Work England. • Experienced in working with adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, including complex safeguarding and risk management. • Skilled in leading teams, supervising staff, and driving high‑quality practice. • Confident in applying the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and relevant legislation. • Committed to co‑production, inclusion, and promoting the rights of people with disabilities. • Able to work collaboratively, think creatively, and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
