EHS Manager
Location: Bathford
Salary: Dependent on Experience
Our client is recruiting for a great opportunity to work within a highly technical environment, working with customers across the world manufacturing unique products.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Build and develop relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to drive EHS and Fire safety commitment throughout the site.
* Deliver specific activities and projects as a key leader in the business to foster effective relationships.
* Develop, maintain, and monitor local EHS & Fire policies, systems, and procedures to meet legislative and operational requirements.
* Ensure departmental risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, and fire inspections are conducted and followed up with corrective actions.
* Assess and manage all environmental, health, and safety hazards effectively (e.g., COSHH, Noise, Emissions).
* Provide adequate EHS & Fire training and toolbox talks for all employees.
* Investigate all incidents thoroughly and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
* Collaborate with the trade union to develop a positive safety culture.
* Line management responsibility for two part-time cleaners.
Ideal Candidate:
* Certified Internal Auditor (IRCA or equivalent).
* At least two years of full-time EHS & Fire experience on an industrial site.
* Formal qualifications in Health & Safety to NEBOSH Certificate level (minimum), and ideally IEMA Certificate and NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate.
* Good computer literacy, communication skills, analytical ability, organizational, and influencing skills.
* Proven ability to achieve results, manage a broad agenda, and work independently.
* Ability to build good relationships across all organizational levels with strong influencing skills.
* Interpersonal skills to handle potential conflicts within the HR framework.
* Self-driven, results-oriented, with a positive outlook and focus on continuous improvement.
* Structured planner capable of ongoing assessment and reassessment.
Working Hours and Benefits:
* 36.25 hours/week, Monday-Thursday 09:00, Friday 09:00.
* 26 days holiday plus bank holidays; option to purchase or sell extra days.
