What will I be doing?
An exciting opportunity has come up to join Somerset Road Safety as a Road Safety Coordinator. We are looking for a self-motivated methodical, well-organised individual to work. The roles main focus is supporting Bikeability and School Crossing Patrols.
Somerset Road Safety is a small team of road safety professionals committed to reducing the number of collisions and casualties on the county's roads by promoting safer driving through education, training and road safety campaigns.
We’re working to improve the lives of people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
* Organise road safety training activities and liaise with the Road Safety Trainers.
* Create and maintain databases.
* Oversee the selection and ordering of new resources by Administrative Support Officer and maintain existing stock levels.
* Respond to general enquiries from the public, elected officials and other SC departments.
* Write reports giving feedback on road safety activities and future policy.
* Provide support and advice to the Technical Lead Education Training and Publicity regarding the operation of School Crossing Patrols.
* To facilitate and deliver all aspects of road safety education and publicity in Key Stage 1 & 2 schools, and corporate organisations throughout the County of Somerset, working within Central and Local Government framework and guidelines.
