Overview
A specialist Alternative Provision is seeking a dedicated and resilient Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. This is a rewarding opportunity to work on a 1:1 basis with a student who requires tailored support due to additional learning needs and social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
Responsibilities
* Delivering 1:1 support for a secondary-aged student with additional needs
* Assisting with learning activities, emotional regulation and engagement in lessons
* Using behaviour management strategies to support positive outcomes
* Building trust and strong relationships to help pupils re-engage with education
* Working alongside teachers, SEN staff and external agencies to follow personalised support plans
* Supporting social skills, independence and resilience development
Qualifications
* Experience working with SEN or SEMH pupils in a school or alternative provision setting (essential)
* Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, supportive approach
* Ability to adapt strategies to suit individual needs
* A patient, resilient and empathetic nature
* Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable)
