EQUANS are looking for a Lead Electrician working on behalf of our Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital contract in Blackburn. This role is permanent and full-time, 40 hours per week. A competitive salary and benefits package is offered.

Responsibilities
* Help ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations and helping achieve H&S targets.
* Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems, monitor and assess ongoing machine/facility performance through Planned Preventive Maintenance, identifying any additional works required.
* Assist in installing, commissioning, and servicing plant, equipment and industrial furniture.
* Maintain a smart appearance and professional manner representative of EQUANS in the workplace.
* Carry out and assist in planned/reactive maintenance to on-site systems.
* Flexible working hours may be required, including overtime; participate in the on-call rota.
* Administer and complete relevant paperwork; maintain a fair, consistent, and courteous attitude at all levels.
* Work under pressure, take ownership of problems and resolve them to conclusion.
* Ensure issues are reported to the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager.
* Communicate regularly and effectively with clients to develop professional working relationships and smooth operations.
* Organise works allocated in a timely manner and support the team; submit clear and accurate reports.
* Attend site out of hours as required on a rotational basis.
* Carry out operational activities safely, protecting personal and others\' safety.
Impact
The Lead Electrician carries out electrical planned and reactive maintenance on all on-site infrastructure, communicates with clients, and supports continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the estate and related engineering systems.
Complexity
The maintenance engineer will complete engineering activities within their training and competence. An Estates management team on site provides specialist advice and liaises with management to facilitate specialist isolations for certain works.
Qualifications or Required Experience
* Experience maintaining, servicing and repairing a wide range of building services (training provided as necessary).
* Worked with lighting and small power; low voltage electrical distribution systems and switchgear; emergency standby generators; fire alarm systems; general and emergency lighting.
* Building Management Systems, PTS System, UPS/IPS, safety sources.
* Recognised electrical apprenticeship and/or qualifications; valid UK driving license and ability to obtain DBS check.
* Experienced electrical professional with a proven track record in building services; fully qualified electrician; IEE 17th/18th edition.
* Testing and certification of electrical installations; basic computer literacy; risk assessment and safe working practices; knowledge of Health & Safety.
* Experience in a Healthcare environment is preferred but not essential.
* Ability to follow instructions, work to plans/method statements, communicate, present and report technical information relevant to the trade/skill.
* Must have completed an electrical apprenticeship with relevant qualifications; NVQ Level 3 or equivalent; AM2 desirable; City & Guilds 2392 - Inspection & Testing or equivalent desirable.
