Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
• Provide strong, visible leadership to care staff and office teams
• Foster a positive, supportive, and professional working culture
• Recruit, induct, supervise, and retain care staff
• Conduct regular supervision, appraisals, spot checks, and competency assessments
• Manage staff performance, attendance, disciplinary and grievance matters
CQC Compliance & Governance
• Ensure the service is compliant with CQC regulations and KLOEs
• Maintain accurate records, audits, policies, and procedures
• Prepare for and manage CQC inspections and action plans
• Ensure incidents, safeguarding concerns, and notifications are reported appropriate
Care Quality & Service Delivery
• Ensure person-centred care plans are implemented and regularly reviewed
• Oversee care assessments, reviews, and risk assessments
• Ensure medication management procedures are followed safely
• Promote dignity, respect, independence, and choice for all service users
• Respond to concerns, complaints, and compliments professionall
Safeguarding & Risk Management
• Ensure safeguarding policies are understood and followed by all staff
• Act as a safeguarding lead and liaise with local authorities and professionals
• Manage incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring learning is shared
• Ensure health & safety procedures are embedded in practice
Operational & Financial Management
• Oversee rotas to ensure safe staffing and continuity of care
• Monitor care hours, efficiency, and cost control
• Support invoicing accuracy and contract compliance
• Liaise with commissioners, healthcare professionals, and external partner
Communication & Partnership Working
• Maintain effective communication with service users, families, professionals, and staff
• Represent the service professionally with local authorities and stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with Directors to support business growt
Essential Criteria
• NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards)
• Proven experience managing a domiciliary care service
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and inspection frameworks
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable Criteria
• Experience as a Registered Manager
• Experience managing CQC inspections rated Good or Outstanding
• Strong understanding of local authority commissioning
• Budget management experience
