Job title: Senior Functional & System Expert – Suspension Control
We are looking for a Senior Functional & System Expert to lead System Engineering Activities for Chassis Suspension Control for various Suspension systems.
Responsibilities
Function & System Ownership
* Define and deliver suspension control functions definitions.
* Shape and define user stories, functions, and system requirements aligned with customer expectations.
* Consume and translate feature-level requirements from areas including:
* Ride & Handling
* Stability
* ADAS / Automated driving function interfaces
* Functional Safety
* Power Management
* Diagnostics
* End-of-Line (EOL) testing
* Manufacturing requirements
Software & Integration Management
* Create and manage software delivery plans aligned with feature maturity.
* Ensure timely software delivery within tight deadlines through cross-functional collaboration (internal teams and Tier 1 suppliers).
* Integrate suspension control systems into the vehicle E/E architecture.
* Ensure cross-functional verification in accordance with system specifications.
* Oversee commissioning on:
* Laboratory environments
* HiL actuator rigs
* End-of-Line testers
Issue & Risk Management
* Lead proactive issue resolution for ECU-related and system-level defects.
* Ensure issue tracking, root cause analysis, and timely countermeasure implementation.
* Perform risk and change management activities.
* Conduct gap analyses and project status reporting across management levels and external stakeholders.
Supplier & Business Development
* Develop and maintain a strategic network of Tier 1 suppliers in chassis motion control.
* Provide supplier consultancy for different OEM vehicle platforms.
* Contribute to know-how development internally and with customers to support new business opportunities.
Required Qualifications & Technical Competencies
* Minimum 8+ years of experience in:
* Suspension systems engineering
* E/E architecture design
* Simulation and testing (MiL, SiL, HiL, DiL & vehicle testing)
* Complex motion control function definition and application
* Experience within OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment
* Minimum 5+ years of experience in cross-functional team environments.
* Proven experience launching multiple series production projects involving motion control functions across systems such as: Steering, Traction Control, Brake Systems, Suspension systems.
* Strong knowledge of automotive development methods and processes including: Functional Safety (ISO 26262), Cybersecurity, OTA functions and Safety-relevant HW/SW/System validation methods.
