Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator/Handyman/woman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services, as well as undertaking various handyman tasks to ensure properties are maintained to a professional standard. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, contributing to the aesthetic and functional improvement of our clients' spaces. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a good command of English, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating
* Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes with precision and attention to detail
* Undertake minor repairs and maintenance tasks around properties, including fixing fixtures, fittings, or minor carpentry work
* Operate various tools and equipment safely and efficiently
* Manage time effectively to complete projects within specified deadlines
* Communicate clearly with clients regarding project progress and any additional work required
* Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organised during and after completion of tasks
* Assist with other general handyman duties as needed, including assembling furniture or installing fixtures
Qualifications
* Proven experience in construction painting and decorating or similar roles
* Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation between sites
* Good command of English with strong communication skills
* Ability to interpret instructions accurately and follow safety procedures diligently
* Reliable, punctual, and organised with a professional attitude towards work
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or collaboratively within a team
* Basic knowledge of general handyman tasks is advantageous but not essential
