We are looking to appoint ahighly skilled and motivated qualified Medical Photographer to join our dedicated team within the Medical Photography Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a dynamic role that will involve travel across various hospital sites and partner institutions where our department provides services. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you'll be working in a range of clinical environments.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong foundation in photography--someone who holds a Degree in Photography or a BSc in Medical Illustration, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Photography.

Main duties of the job
As a Medical Photographer at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, you will carry out a diverse range of clinical photography across all the hospital sites we serve. Your work will include visiting wards, theatres and outpatient clinics to capture clinical images, as well as undertaking studio-based photography at our dedicated facility within the Radiology Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
In addition to clinical photography, your responsibilities will include:
Uploading and post-processing images to meet clinical standards.
Ensuring accurate and secure maintenance of patient records.
Adhering strictly to departmental protocols and policies to uphold confidentiality and quality of care.
You'll be working closely with a wide variety of patients and healthcare professionals, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to succeed in this role. A compassionate and professional approach is key, as is the ability to work sensitively in clinical environments.
About us
The Medical Photography Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals currently consists of a team of 10 Clinical Photographers and 1 Clinical Videographer. The department delivers a comprehensive clinical photography andvideography service across all hospital sites in Sheffield. Additionally, we provide services under formal agreements to Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* BSc / BA or equivalent in Photography
* PgCert Clinical Photography
* Registration with Academy of Healthcare Clinical Scientists (AHCS)
* Registration with Institute of Medical Illustrators
Experience
* Post qualification photographic work experience
* Understanding of photographic and digital technology
* Computer literate, experience of relevant specific software e.g. Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft office suite. Image database software.
* Ability to undertake photographic assignments to required national and local standards
* Clinical Photography experience, lighting and positioning patients in a studio or clinical environment
* Experience of using photographic processing software, eg Adobe Photoshop and Digital Image Asset Management Systems
* Clinical Photography experience, lighting and positioning patients in a studio or clinical environment
* Accurate and timely recording of both written and electronic information whilst maintaining confidentiality
* Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
* Ophthalmic Photography Experience
* Previous experience working as a Medical Photographer
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to work well under pressure, using own initiative
* Ability to participate in planning and organisation of own workload
* Ability to concentrate and give attention to detail
* Ability to participate in and contribute to staff meetings

* Experience of video filming and production
