We are seeking an experienced and proactive Clinical Site Manager to play a pivotal role in the operational and clinical management of our hospital site. This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the safe and appropriate placement of emergency and elective patients, in close collaboration with the medical teams and Senior Nursing staff.
This role provides a unique overview of the many and varied clinical and managerial challenges involved in running a busy acute hospital site.
We are seeking applications from experienced nurses to join our established team of nurses who provide senior nursing support to the hospital site 24/7/365.
A broad overview of responsibilities includes managing the Trust's bed capacity, assisting in the achievement of key performance and quality standards (e.g. emergency and elective admission access targets, single sex accommodation, infection control), supporting nursing, medical, and ancillary staff as well patients and their relatives - providing overall responsibility for the hospital site out of hours with support from the on-call senior manager and the executive on call., You will work across organisational and departmental boundaries to identify and implement solutions to bottlenecks in patient admissions.
To plan and manage the utilisation of inpatient beds providing an efficient and effective service for both emergency and elective admissions.
You will take a lead role in ensuring admissions pathways for emergency and elective patients are optimised.
You will play a key role in enabling the Trust to achieve national performance targets for emergency and elective access.
Work with the hospital teams to ensure access and capacity processes are effective, timely and improve patient experiences.
Manage the day to day and out of hours operational running of the site.
Experience demonstrating effective management of complex clinical environments and situations with good problem solving skills combined with a flexible and adaptable approach.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of current NHS and professional issues

We offer parking on site at Salisbury District Hospital, a daily charge applies. We encourage our staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible, and our Trust is well connected through the bus services to the city centre and other areas.

If this job requires you to have DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment, you will be required to replay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed in instalments from your salary. Many staff use the DBS update service at a cost of £13 per annum but you need to sign up for this via their website.

Candidates will have a minimum of 4 years post registration experience and will have a minimum of one year previous clinical leadership / team leader experience in an acute setting. Confidence in acute clinical skills and evidence of professional development will be required.
