Overview
We are looking for an outstanding clinician and leader to join a restorative dentistry service within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales. The role offers opportunities to lead and develop high-quality Restorative Dentistry services, with the potential to contribute to a Tier 2 Restorative service across North Wales. The restorative surgeries on both sites are equipped with state-of-the-art dental equipment, including high-specification dental microscopes, and support complex endodontic work, dental implants, and advanced periodontal surgery.

Location: North Wales; there will be involvement in cross-site service development as described above.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development of a high-quality Restorative Dentistry service within BCUHB, with potential involvement in developing a Tier 2 Restorative service across North Wales.
* Support and develop multidisciplinary clinics with Orthodontics, Paediatric Dentistry, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for assessment, treatment planning and treatment as appropriate.
* Be a member of the Head and Neck Cancer MDT, providing expert input and service support to cancer patients.
* Provide assessment, treatment planning and treatment for Cleft Lip and Palate patients as part of the North West Cleft Lip & Palate Service.
* Offer a specialist Restorative Dentistry advisory, diagnostic and treatment-planning service to support dental practitioners in managing complex restorative cases.
* Maintain and develop local dental services, supporting innovation and best practice, including refinement of referral criteria to optimise patient flow.
* Provide advice to support the development of primary care dentists to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* BDS or equivalent
* Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
* Postgraduate experience
* Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exit Examination in Restorative Dentistry or equivalent
* Holds CCST in Restorative Dentistry or equivalent or will obtain within 6 months of interview
* Is currently, or will be eligible for inclusion, on the GDC Specialist Register
Desirable criteria
* Distinctions, scholarships, prizes, other degrees (e.g., BSc, MSc, MS, PhD)
* Welsh Speaker
Training
Essential Criteria
* Successful completion of an SAC approved 5-year minimum training programme in Restorative Dentistry, or within 6 months of completion or equivalent
Audit
Essential Criteria
* Participation in clinical audit and understanding of its role in improving practice
* Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance
Desirable criteria
* Presentation of audit projects
Research
Essential Criteria
* Understanding of general principles, scientific method and interpretation of literature
