We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team based in the CQC-rated 'Good' hospital in picturesque Emersons Green. You will be part of a close-knit, collaborative team committed to providing the highest standards of care to our patients and their families.
Our inpatient team comprises experienced nurses and healthcare assistants, supported by a welcoming Ward Manager. Your duties will include undertaking basic ward responsibilities, overseeing new patient admissions, ensuring key documentation is completed, and introducing patients to their care team.
All work is planned, allowing you to organize your week with a predictable schedule. You will liaise with the wider Practice Plus Group medical team to ensure patients' treatments are carried out while maintaining confidentiality. Your clinical and infection control knowledge, problem-solving skills, and ability to think both literally and laterally will enable you to coach and support your team. We encourage sharing best practices across our site to develop your skills and benefit from our clinical leadership.
Shift patterns include:
* Long day: 07:00 - 20:00
* Early: 07:00 - 15:00
* Late: 12:00 - 20:00
* Night: 19:00 - 08:00
Key Responsibilities
* Support high-quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
* Deliver direct patient care, delegate and supervise care provided by HCAs, ensuring high standards.
* Ensure practices meet external regulatory requirements, working within the NMC code and Practice Plus Group policies.
* Manage staff, supplies, and equipment effectively, including taking charge of the ward in the absence of senior staff, provided competence is demonstrated.
* Teach junior staff, patients, and relatives; promote health education; stay updated with nursing developments and research.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of clinical care and ensure safety for all.
Candidate Requirements
* Level 1 Registered Nurse
* Relevant post-registration experience, including recent experience in a surgical ward, preferably across multiple specialties
* Good understanding of infection control
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
* Strong planning and prioritization skills under pressure
* Effective change management skills
* Leadership qualities
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Computer literacy
Additional Information
Location: Practice Plus Group, Emersons Green, Bristol
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £37,043 per year, with enhancements for night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts
