For this role, we are currently considering candidates who live within approximately 15 miles of the Care Home. This ensures commutes are manageable and support your wellbeing and work-life balance. About the role

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Nurse to join our leadership team at MHA. This is a key clinical leadership role, supporting the Home Manager and Deputy Manager to deliver the highest standards of nursing care and to lead, develop and inspire nursing and care colleagues.

As a Senior Nurse, you will lead an allocated team, oversee the assessment, planning and delivery of care, and act as a clinical role model within the home. You will play a vital role in maintaining a culture of person-centred, evidence-based practice that reflects MHA's values and commitment to dignity and respect.

What you will do

* Lead an allocated team in the delivery of high-quality nursing care and support to residents.
* Take responsibility for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of person-centred nursing care.
* Provide hands-on nursing care where required, ensuring residents' physical, emotional and clinical needs are met.
* Support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager in the effective day-to-day management of the home.
* Lead and manage nursing care delivery, promoting high standards and acting as a clinical resource for colleagues.
* Oversee safe and effective medication management, including ordering, administration, storage and documentation, in line with NMC guidelines and organisational policy.
* Maintain accurate, contemporaneous nursing records and contribute to audits and quality assurance activities.
* Supervise, support and develop nurses, care staff and learners, including student nurses and apprentices.
* Contribute to induction, training, supervision and appraisal processes for designated colleagues.
* Take charge of the home in the absence of the Home Manager or Deputy, escalating concerns appropriately.
* Liaise effectively with residents, families and external professionals to ensure continuity of care.

About you

We are looking for a confident and skilled nurse with strong leadership ability and a commitment to clinical excellence.

You will bring:

* Registered Nurse qualification with a current NMC PIN.
* Evidence of ongoing professional and clinical development, including revalidation.
* Experience of leading and managing nursing and care teams.
* Practical knowledge and experience of care planning and clinical governance.
* Strong understanding and application of the NMC Code.
* Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
* Confidence using IT systems and electronic care records.
* Sensitivity to the needs of older people and a person-centred approach.
* A flexible approach to working shift patterns and occasional travel if required.
* Experience of post-qualification work with older people is desirable.

Why join MHA?

You will be joining an organisation with strong values, a supportive culture and a genuine commitment to helping people live later life well. At MHA, Senior Nurses play a crucial role in shaping clinical practice, supporting colleagues and ensuring residents receive outstanding care.

Rewards and benefits

In addition to a competitive hourly rate, you will enjoy:

* 30 days holiday (including bank holidays) and an option to buy annual leave (pro-rota for part time)
* A strong pension scheme and life assurance
* Support with professional fees in relevant roles
* Free DBS checks and uniforms
* Confidential counselling, chaplaincy support and access to our hardship fund
* Flexible options to buy or sell annual leave, plus family-friendly policies
* Discounts through the Blue Light Card, Health Service Discounts and the Vivup app
* A full induction, ongoing training, recognised qualifications and clear career progression
