Mechanical Inspector
Job Location: Wimborne, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £16.83 per hour / £35,000 per annum
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm & Friday 8am – 1.00pm
A well-established manufacturer based in Wimborne are looking to recruit for a Mechanical Inspector on a permanent contract.
Duties will include;
* Goods in, work in progress and final inspection of mechanical parts
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances
* Using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometres, bore gauges and height gauges etc
* Program and operating CMM equipment (training can be provided)
* Identifying, recording and reporting non-conformances
* Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Maintaining accurate inspection records and reports
* Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and company quality standards
The successful candidate will possess;
* Previous experience of mechanical inspection (3 – 5 years)
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Experience in programming and operating CMM is advantageous – training can be provided
* Experience of using measuring equipment
* Understanding of machining and assembly processes
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
