Overview
Job Summary: An experienced Practice Nurse to join our enthusiastic team of nurses. We are looking for someone who is motivated and enjoys working as part of a team. Previous experience within a GP practice is essential. The vacancy is full time but would consider 28-35 hours with flexibility to cover sickness and holidays. You will be joining a supportive practice team with bi-weekly catch ups with the clinical lead.
Main duties
* To provide excellent patient care
* Treatment room skills including chronic disease management (notably asthma and COPD), immunisation, screening and health promotion
* Participate in setting standards for care and auditing clinical outcomes
* Promote and participate in maintaining a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment
* Develop strategies and implement health promotion programmes for clients and carers; facilitate screening clinics
* Take responsibility for the safe storage and administration of drugs and equipment
* Participate in setting and monitoring standards to ensure effective care and evidence-based practice
* Provide information, advice and support to patients face to face and via telephone
* Engage in team discussions to ensure best practice
About You
* Be a Registered General Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
* Able to demonstrate continuing professional development
* Able to work in a changing environment and implement changes to provide high-quality health care
* Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
* Aware of local and national health policy
* Must have PC skills (EmisWeb); ability to use basic Word, Excel and email
* Highly motivated and flexible
About Us
You will be joining an amazing practice team that is friendly and very supportive, with a professional and caring approach to supporting the 11,300 patients under their care and the local community. Bi-weekly catch ups with the clinical lead are provided. The SSMC nursing team includes 2 Senior Nurses, 1 New-to-Practice Nurse and 1 Nurse Associate.
