Role
We are seeking a Sustainability Manager to play a key role in our Onshore Delivery Team, supporting the delivery of sustainability objectives for major projects within our “Pathway to 2030” Programme. In this position, you will oversee sustainability governance, integrate requirements into projects, and enhance best practice across our construction projects.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for implementation of sustainability requirements, including commitments & targets from the SSEN-T Sustainability Strategy within project delivery and our supply chain.
* Identify, track and monitor implementation of our Sustainability Assessment & Action Plan (SAAP) requirement.
* Report on the quality of all sustainability outputs and data submitted by our supply chain partners.
* Act as a focal point for sustainability technical advice for our project teams and support our contractors in identifying opportunities to innovate or exceed performance.
* Establish and sustain effective relationships with contractors, stakeholders, communities, and the public to ensure sustainable project delivery.
Qualifications
* Experience advising on sustainability and carbon in corporate capital projects, ideally for large infrastructure programmes.
* A broad knowledge of the sustainability sector, including environmental, social, economic impacts; expertise in carbon, circular economy, biodiversity net gain, natural capital, and social value is a plus.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, both verbal and written, coupled with a practical understanding of project delivery processes.
* Chartered status (or working towards it) via a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA) or equivalent professional experience.
* Valid current driving licence and willingness to travel between offices and sites throughout Northern Scotland.
