Your New Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for Permanent Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our Scottish Grounds Maintenance Account in Inverkeithing, Fife.
Our Scottish Grounds Maintenance Account works in partnership with other Amey accounts to deliver grounds maintenance services. Our main work involves grounds maintenance on behalf of our facility management colleagues in Secure Infrastructure.
This includes all planned grounds maintenance activities across 70 school sites nationally, spread over 6 local authority areas: Borders, Clackmannanshire, Dumfries & Galloway, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Renfrewshire. We also deliver winter and responsive works. Additionally, we manage vegetation for NMCSW and NMCNE highways contracts.
Grounds Maintenance Operative
This role involves providing general maintenance such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, leaf clearing, verge and litter services in the Inverkeithing area.
Standard hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities include:
* Horticultural activities: planting, pruning, seeding
* Erecting and dismantling equipment
* Setting out and making sports pitches, including grass and tarmac surfaces
* Maintaining artificial and synthetic pitches
* Tree care
* Vehicle, tractor, and equipment checks
* Weather-dependent activities: gritting and snow clearing
Candidate Requirements
* Full driving licence, preferably with trailer experience
* Experience in grounds maintenance duties
* Basic gardening and horticulture knowledge
Experience with ride-on mowers is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
