About the Academy
Oasis Academy Brislington is one of the largest secondary schools in Bristol, known for a warm, friendly, and inclusive environment that nurtures belonging and supports students to reach their full potential. Our mission is to be the ‘best’ truly comprehensive secondary school for the people we serve, equipping students with confidence, knowledge, and skills to stand as first amongst equals and encouraging them to take risks, be curious, and learn from experience. We provide a well‑structured learning environment and work closely with staff and students to develop character, talents, and interests throughout the five‑year learning journey.
Roles
Student Progress Leader (SPL)
As the Student Progress Leader you will lead a designated year group, ensuring that all students achieve their personal best through high expectations for behaviour and attendance, celebrating achievement, and building strong relationships with students, parents, and carers. You will collaborate with tutors and two non‑teaching Year Team Managers to create a culture of 360‑degree care, challenge, and support for every student.
Teacher of Design Technology
We are looking for a creative and innovative Teacher of Design Technology to join our Creative Arts and Industry faculty. You will deliver an academically rigorous, diverse curriculum that promotes curiosity and independence. Your line manager will provide high‑quality support and challenge, while you enjoy a fully resourced, Trust‑wide curriculum that allows you to adapt lessons to meet student needs without starting from scratch.
What We Can Offer You
* An exceptional CPD offer including fortnightly personalised Incremental Coaching, weekly Academy‑wide and department‑based CPD, and termly Trust‑based CPD.
* A pre‑planned, fully resourced, Trust‑wide curriculum with autonomy to adapt for your students – no planning lessons from scratch!
* A centralised Culture for Learning Policy that supports teaching and learning alongside a superb Pastoral and SEND team.
* A streamlined, personalised feedback & assessment policy designed to minimise staff workload and maximise student progression.
* Access to Apprenticeship Levy for further professional and academic qualifications.
* Opportunity to run a weekly extra‑curricular club of your choosing and share your talents with students.
* Access to a laptop for all staff and students, enabling the use of Formative and other online self‑marking assessment resources.
* Chance to further your career within the Trust and region.
* Access to Eye Care vouchers and a national Cycle to Work scheme.
* Access to the Health Shield Cash Plan offering 24/7 GP access, dental, eye‑care, physiotherapy, and chiropody services.
* Support for work‑life balance via Time Off Work Policy, Menopause Policy, and Flexible Working.
* National Mental Health Team support, including qualified Mental Health Nurses and confidential counselling services.
* If you are an Early Career Teacher, you will receive support from an individual subject Mentor and the wider ECT team, both within the Academy and nationally.
* Opportunity to join a successful department with a proven track record and rich expertise.
What We Are Looking For
* A committed, passionate individual who wants to improve the life chances of students within Bristol.
* A great team player, able to collaborate to enhance opportunities for our students.
* A person dedicated to helping students stand as first amongst equals.
