East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Library Services Operational Manager to help lead and shape the future of our library services. This is an important role, essential to the continued success and innovation of our library provision across the region.
We are looking for a forward-thinking leader to take on this influential position which encompasses a wide range of operational and strategic responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Library HQ Operations: Oversee all services delivered from Melton HQ, including Schools Library Service, Mobile Library Services, Bibliographical Services, and the Libraries IT/Development team.
* IT & Technical Services: Manage the Library Management System, digital services, RFID self-service, and liaise with IT suppliers and front-line sites.
* Bibliographical Services: Lead the acquisition, management, and disposal of library stock, including e-stock, and coordinate events and reader development initiatives.
* Schools Library Service: Manage this self-financing service that supports schools with curriculum-aligned resources and reading initiatives.
* Mobile Library Service: Deliver services to 149 rural communities, manage the At Home service for vulnerable residents, and oversee the Public Health vehicle.
* Staff Leadership: Lead a diverse team of 42 staff (18.6 FTE), ensuring effective communication and service delivery across both central and remote locations.
