Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel. We have been supporting older people for over 120 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty. Redcot, specialising in residential care, is in Haslemere, Surrey, with a tranquil setting overlooking gardens and countryside.
Joining us as a Domestic Assistant / Housekeeper, you will help keep our care home clean and ensure that we offer high standards of hygiene and cleanliness. You will be responsible for general domestic duties such as vacuuming, polishing tables and surfaces, wiping armchairs and dining chairs, and emptying bins. You will ensure the laundry service runs smoothly and assist with serving meals and refreshments.
Employment Type: Part-time; 8 hours per week (pattern: Days, Weekends – Saturday and Sunday with 4 hours shifts, e.g., 9am-1pm or 10am-2pm).
Responsibilities
* General domestic duties: vacuuming, polishing tables and office surfaces, wiping chairs, emptying bins.
* Laundry service coordination and assistance with serving meals and refreshments.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the home.
Qualifications and Skills
* A good standard of English and number skills.
* Comfortable using various forms of digital technology to complete online training.
* No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
* Self-motivated, resilient, and a team player willing to go the extra mile.
* Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety would be beneficial but is not essential.

Criminal Records
As this role involves dealing with vulnerable adults, successful applicants will undertake an enhanced DBS check. Any offer of employment will be dependent on a satisfactory outcome.
