Key responsibilities include:
* Teaching Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
* Planning and delivering engaging lessons that include hands-on practical work
* Supporting pupils in developing creative design and technical skills
* Monitoring and assessing pupil progress through regular feedback
* Preparing pupils for GCSE and/or A-Level coursework and examinations
* Maintaining workshop safety and ensuring health and safety compliance
* Contributing to curriculum planning and development
* Supporting extracurricular activities such as design clubs or project competitions
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
* Have strong subject knowledge in Design Technology
* Be confident delivering practical workshop-based lessons
* Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
* Have a good understanding of workshop safety procedures
* Be organised, proactive, and committed to high standards
* Work effectively as part of a collaborative department
