About the Schools
Our partner secondary schools across Teesside are busy, ambitious environments where no two days are the same. You’ll be stepping into classrooms across a range of subjects, supervising pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher. Strong behaviour management is at the heart of this role — these schools need someone who can command respect, build rapport quickly, and maintain a positive learning environment from the moment they walk through the door.
Assignment Details
We are recruiting for Cover Supervisors across three types of availability — so whether you want total flexibility or something more structured, we can find the right fit:
1. Day-to-day supply — flexible, ad hoc bookings across Teesside schools
2. Short-term contracts — planned cover for periods of staff absence
3. Long-term placements — ongoing roles with the opportunity to become a familiar face in school
This is a full-time or part-time role, Monday to Friday. Roles are available for an immediate start.
Person Specification
4. Proven ability to manage behaviour confidently and consistently in a secondary setting — essential
5. Experience supervising or working with young people aged 11–16
6. Calm and assertive communication style — able to de-escalate and re-engage students quickly
7. Able to follow pre-set lesson plans and keep classes on track without direct teacher supervision
8. A degree or relevant classroom experience is desirable but not essential
9. Current DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for a new one
