We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated primary care Ophthalmology Consultant required to cover medical Glaucoma and/or Paediatrics but willing to cover general Ophthalmology, as required by the department to join our dedicated and professional multi‑disciplined ophthalmic team.
This is a consultant post at 1.0 WTE including ad hoc theatre sessions, outpatient clinics, admin and SPA. Part‑time positions will also be accepted.
On‑Call Requirements
* First on call one night a week 5‑9pm
* Second on call 1:4 weekends 9am‑9pm
Responsibilities
* Clinical Services: Work with consultant colleagues to plan, deliver and improve clinical care in Ophthalmology at Alhambra Outpatients. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, advise clinical colleagues, liaise with health‑care organisations, social services, GPs, voluntary organisations and hospice as required.
* Training and Education: Contribute to the teaching of other staff grades within and outside the department, including medical staff, nurses, paramedical staff, scientific and technical staff. Consider a role as Educational Supervisor / Clinical Supervisor for Specialist Registrars, Core Trainees and Foundation Doctors.
