Overview
228255 R1 Occupational Therapy Advanced Practitioner (EG) role at NHS Lothian. The post primarily within Western General Hospital involves high levels of autonomous decision making and clinical judgment to diagnose and manage highly complex patient conditions including assessment, treatment and review planning in partnership with patients and families. The APOT provides highly specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients and relatives, and acts as expert clinician, educator and leader.
Responsibilities
* Take a key role in clinically leading and developing the team within the service to improve practice; implement and evaluate evidence-based standards, guidelines and policies.
* Clinically lead and participate in quality improvement and research activity to contribute to service development.
* Provide highly specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients and relatives (within primarily the Western General Hospital).
Qualifications and requirements
* Occupational Therapist with advanced practitioner status (APOT) or equivalent.
* Experience delivering highly specialist occupational therapy services and autonomous decision making.
* Working in the United Kingdom with permission to work; PVG scheme membership or ability to obtain; compliance with safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
* Note about regulatory changes from 1 April 2025; if the post is assessed as a \'regulated role\', appointment will be subject to joining the PVG Scheme. Details will be provided by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.
