An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Offshore Embedded Wind Technician to join our Operations and Maintenance team at the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm in Mostyn, Flintshire, UK.
This role is an embedded position where, although employed by RWE, you will be fully integrated into the Siemens Gamesa Renewables Energy (SGRE) team and culture.
About The Role
* Electro/Mechanical troubleshooting of wind turbines and associated equipment, working at heights up to 85m offshore, using manuals and electronic devices to diagnose issues
* Obtaining accreditation under wind turbine safety regulations
* Following SGRE service provider rosters
* Working according to RWE Renewables Ltd's annual hours contract pattern
* Training to SGRE Maintenance Technician level or higher, with the goal to lead service teams
* Working safely individually or as part of a team
* Focusing on high-quality maintenance, doing the job right the first time
* Promoting safety leadership and ensuring proper reporting of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
* Communicating WTG defects to onsite supervisors/engineering team
* Accurately recording work hours using provided IT devices
* Attending mandatory training at off-site locations periodically
Required Skills and Responsibilities
* Flexibility in work approach, capable of working alone or in a small multidisciplinary team
* Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
* Ability to maintain quality under peak workloads
* High standards of work with minimal supervision
* Commitment to personal development and willingness to learn
* Experienced Mechanical, Electrical, or Technical Engineer/Technician
* Knowledge of the wind industry is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
* Flexibility to operate the wind farm 24/7, considering tidal restrictions
* Knowledge and experience of safety systems in both WTSR and HV
* Experience with electronic maintenance management systems
