We are recruiting a Mental Adviser to support students with mental health difficulties through the Inclusive Support Team within Student Support Services.
Responsibilities
 * Manage a large caseload of students with mental health difficulties, providing specialist advice, guidance and information to students, applicants and staff.
 * Apply knowledge of various mental health conditions and supporting measures to develop individualised interventions and care plans.
 * Ensure students with disabilities receive appropriate support, liaising with the disability assistance team and relevant university services.
 * Work collaboratively with academic staff, pastoral and welfare teams to promote student well‑being and develop preventative strategies.
 * Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments, interventions and outcomes in accordance with university policy.
 * Keep abreast of developments in mental health practice, relevant legislation and higher‑education provision.
Qualifications and Experience
 * Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
 * Professional qualification/training relating to mental health (e.g., GBP, BRC, PHE, equivalent).
 * Extensive experience of working with adults or students with a range of mental health conditions.
 * Substantial knowledge of the support requirements for disabled students within a higher‑education context.
 * Demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with diverse student populations.
