Sounds great, what will I be doing?

The role involves managing a caseload of clients identified as needing early intervention or preventative support with their mental health. The postholder will deliver group activities and structured programmes that promote wellbeing, personal development, and social inclusion. They will actively monitor the health, safety, and wellbeing of the service and its users, ensuring that any concerns are addressed promptly and in accordance with safeguarding and organisational procedures. As part of a collaborative team, the individual will contribute to the core work of the service, supporting colleagues, completing tasks assigned by the Service Manager, and using initiative to identify and respond to emerging needs. Accurate and timely administration is essential, including maintaining detailed records and ensuring confidentiality is upheld at all times. Referrals, assessments, and service reviews must be conducted effectively and within required timeframes.

The role also requires engagement in regular supervision, appraisals, and reflective practice to support professional development. A key aspect of the position is clearly articulating the aims, objectives, pathways, and service model to service users, enabling them to co-produce and actively participate in their support plans. The postholder will empower service users to engage confidently with professionals in the community, including mental health teams, social workers, housing providers, health professionals, and employment services. Flexibility is essential to ensure service coverage and meet contractual obligations. The role also includes developing co-produced group activities, peer support networks, and community-based initiatives that empower service users to achieve their goals and aspirations. Encouraging service users to access these opportunities is a vital part of fostering independence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Here's what the team will be looking for:

In this role, you'll use your exceptional interpersonal skills to build rapport quickly and communicate effectively with individuals in distress. You'll be confident in handling sensitive conversations, demonstrating strong telephone etiquette and remaining calm and professional in high-pressure situations. With experience in crisis management and de-escalation, you'll provide vital support during moments of acute need. You'll lead and facilitate engaging activities that promote wellbeing and connection, ensuring service users feel supported throughout their stay. Experience working within mental health settingsparticularly with individuals on the autism spectrumis highly desirable. A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures is essential, along with the ability to respond promptly and appropriately to alerts. We're looking for someone with excellent organisational and time-management skills, capable of balancing direct support with administrative tasks. You'll be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, contributing to a positive and inclusive team environment. Accuracy in maintaining case notes and reports is key, as is a non-judgemental and inclusive attitude that respects diversity and promotes equality in care.
