Type: Permanent, 35 hours/week, day shift (8am-4pm, Mon-Fri), with flexibility

Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company (CMBC) is a historic UK brewer, formed from a joint venture between Carlsberg UK and Marston’s PLC. We are recruiting a Packaging Quality Specialist to join our team, reporting to the Operational Quality Manager. The role involves:
Key Accountabilities:
1. Conducting audits to ensure compliance and reporting results; developing continuous improvements.
2. Coordinating concessions and notifications, making local decisions, and resolving issues sustainably.
3. Leading cross-functional improvement initiatives and problem-solving efforts.
4. Supporting focus improvement activities and applying lean principles.
5. Representing Quality in daily meetings and contributing with data and action plans.
6. Establishing hygiene standards, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions.
7. Ensuring calibration of instruments and developing SOPs and troubleshooting guides.
8. Providing training and coaching to team members.
9. Monitoring packaging material performance and managing non-conformances.
10. Reporting metrics and supporting system maintenance, including SAP.
11. Leading HACCP for packaging, ensuring risk assessments and control measures.
12. Participating in new trials, processes, or product launches with risk assessments.
13. Leading taste panels as a trained taster.
14. Sharing best practices across functions and countries.
15. Handling out-of-hours calls and escalating issues as needed.
Experience & Attributes:
1. Experience in brewing, food, or drinks industry.
2. Experience managing trials and research projects.
3. FMCG experience.
4. Proficiency in MS Office; SAP desired.
5. Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, ISO 9001, 22000.
6. Lean skills, SPC, root cause analysis.
7. Auditor training (ISO 9001 preferred).
8. Understanding of packaging.
9. Science/Engineering degree or equivalent.
