Business Development Manager - DHL Cross Border Solutions UK

Job Purpose:
Lead business development for DHL Cross-Border Solutions including sourcing lead avenues, the implementation of functional strategy to generate new and/or additional business, looking to grow market share in line with country strategy, financial objectives, Group guidelines and policies
Key Responsibilities:
* Define the country's business development strategy in line with country business strategy, financial objectives, Group guidelines and policies for new business opportunities
* Set and implement business development plans and budgets, account management approach and account plans
* Lead strategic business development activities and initiatives across the country with significant impact on overall results
* Drive the country's market growth and retention rate
* Support customer strategies and contract negotiations
* Achieve pricing strategy that is consistent with the business objectives of the country MD and CBS Group
* Direct market studies and feasibility studies to assess market potential
* Support the sales team to source and develop major leads, negotiate, and convert business
* Build relationships with CBS customers to enhance working processes and productivity and to create additional sales
* Facilitate alignment of global strategies with the country's strategy and ensures coordination of global efforts within the country
* Drive business development synergies and strategies within CBS UK and decide on areas for improvement based on pipeline reporting and trends
* Interpret key trends and developments impacting business and identify change needs within the country level business development plans
* Promote systems for monitoring competitive activity and dissemination of information and best practices to all relevant parties
* Imbed best in class sales and business development practices for CBS
* Influence innovation that directly influences the way CBS UK is operating and making money
* Analyze complex issues with multiple dimensions and modify business development methods and techniques
* Reach agreement with external parties to accept complete proposals and programs where there is little interest in cooperating or participating
Experience required:
· 3+ years’ experience in a BDM role within the logistics and/or Cross Boarder Solutions industry
