We have an exciting opportunity for a Container Terminal Manager to lead operations at our Christchurch Container Terminal.

About the role
* Manage terminal-based staff planning and day-to-day container terminal functions
* Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full operational compliance
* Drive On-Time Performance and consistently deliver for our customers
* Lead, coach and develop terminal staff supporting their performance and training
* Influence positive outcomes, solve operational challenges and keep the terminal running smoothly
* Bring clear decision-making, strong relationship-building skills and an understanding of what it takes to meet service commitments in a fast-paced freight environment
* Work Monday–Friday day shift with an on-call component supporting 24/7 operations

* Strong leadership skills and the ability to build high performing teams
* Sound experience in a unionised environment is preferred
* Exceptional problem solving and organising abilities to achieve high-end productivity results
* Proficient computer skills with experience using a range of customised software packages
* Proven ability to drive Health, Safety and Wellbeing and the ability to grow and shape our safety leaders
* A strong customer focus with stakeholder relationship building skills
* Experience in freight or transport
* A full clean driver’s Licence with Class 2 and F endorsement is preferred
