We are looking for a motivated person to join the Infection Control team. This exciting post will interest staff who enjoy variety in their job with plenty of opportunities and will give the successful applicant the potential to develop the role whilst working with the support and guidance of senior colleagues.
You must be keen to develop your communication, organisational, and educational skills and knowledge in this role. In return, we will offer support with training. You will need to be innovative and keen to use extended skills to support our busy team both clinically and administratively.
An essential part of your role will be to carry out and help with the organisation and monitoring of Fit Testing within the Trust. Fit testing is required to ensure that FFP3 masks fit staff effectively and provide a safe shield against viruses and organisms. Full training on how to do this will be provided. You will also support the infection control team with audits and staff education.
Your main duties will include championing, organising, and conducting mask fit testing for clinical staff in accordance with HSE testing guidance. You will need to ensure training records are maintained to a high standard on our electronic record system. As a PPE ambassador, you would be expected to advise wards on PPE management and support the infection control team with donning and doffing training.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake audits and monitor respirator protective equipment usage, as well as assist with data collection in line with the Trust's audit and surveillance programme and ward-based training where required.
