Year 7 English Teacher & KS3 Study Supervisor
Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, UK
Salary: £100 – £200 per day (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Full Time, Temporary (until end of Summer Term)

Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience.
A high-performing 11–18 co-educational academy in Welwyn Garden City is seeking a motivated and adaptable Year 7 English Teacher & KS3 Study Supervisor to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a school known for its highly motivated students and exceptional staff, with a strong focus on Mathematics and Computing specialism.
The Role
This is a varied and engaging position combining Year 7 English teaching with Key Stage 3 study supervision. You will be responsible for delivering engaging English lessons while also ensuring that study sessions are structured, purposeful, and supportive of student progress.
You will be expected to work independently, plan and assess effectively, and contribute positively to the wider school environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver high-quality Year 7 English lessons
• Assess, monitor, and support student progress in line with curriculum expectations
• Supervise KS3 study sessions, maintaining a focused and productive environment
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of different learners
• Uphold strong classroom management and behaviour standards
• Contribute to the wider school community and ethos
Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied timetable
• Flexible, reliable, and proactive approach
• Commitment to supporting student achievement and wellbeing
