To undertake rotational training as outlined by the Trust training programme and gain a level of competence to be able to prepare for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council and to practise safely, effectively, and independently as a professional practitioner.
The post holder
* Will work under the supervision of qualified pharmacists, technicians and other healthcare professionals in various professional and technical roles carried out in all sections of the pharmacy service including dispensing, ward/clinical services, medicines information, prescribing (if appropriate) and aseptic services.
* Will follow all legal and departmental practices including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practice (orange guide), COSHH, and lifting and manual handling regulations and all Trust policies and procedures.
* Will be expected to contribute to the development of pharmaceutical services, and to promote the highest standards of professional practice, whilst observing at all times the "Standards for Pharmacy Professionals" issued by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Trainee will be required to undertake a multisector placement as stated in the position applied for on the Oriel national application process.
All duties carried out by a Trainee Pharmacist will be under supervision. All work carried out is ultimately under the supervision of a pharmacist.
