Robert Half is delighted to be recruiting for a Compliance Officer on behalf of a well-established organisation based in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional to take ownership of regulatory oversight, risk management, and data protection within a complex and fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
1. Coordinate legal and regulatory queries and liaise with external advisers
2. Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks
3. Monitor regulatory developments and implement proactive compliance actions
4. Identify areas of potential risk or vulnerability and implement corrective plans
Governance & Reporting
5. Support senior leadership with compliance reporting and governance oversight
6. Maintain and manage the organisation's compliance database
7. Contribute to business continuity planning and review processes
8. Maintain accurate records of mandatory training and monitoring processes
Risk & Assurance
9. Maintain and update the risk register in collaboration with senior stakeholders
10. Support organisational readiness for external reviews or inspections
11. Coordinate documentation and preparation activities where required
Policies & Procedures
12. Ensure policies and procedures remain up to date and compliant
13. Support teams with drafting and reviewing policy documentation
14. Monitor the effectiveness and practical application of policies
Data Protection & GDPR
15. Lead on data protection and privacy compliance
16. Conduct compliance audits and maintain data protection processes
17. Work collaboratively with internal and external data protection specialists
About You
18. Proven experience in a compliance, risk, governance, or regulatory role
19. Strong knowledge of GDPR and data protection best practice
20. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
21. Confident communicator able to influence and advise stakeholders at all levels
22. Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
