Quality Engineer We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join us in our quality department. Reporting to the Quality Manager you will provide support in the achievement of high-quality standards across all services and products. You will be an ambassador for quality, championing initiatives, acting as a focal point for all Quality related matters across each site at Haslingden. You will also be required to research and develop new methods of testing equipment and products in line with statutory and regulatory requirements. Key requirements Primary responsible for the testing, developing, improving quality of the product and processes. Driving continuous improvement of the Haslingden site with an additional strong focus on, health and safety focus and product safety. Supporting Compliance Manager to add in guiding the overall provision of QHSE services, policy's, programmes, procedures and standards for division and its compliance. Responsible for supporting the business and all teams in developing and leading a proactive and forward-thinking Compliance function and its adherence. To engage the wider team (such as production, sales, finance, IT, technical and other sites compliance managers) in the QHSE process. To ensure compliance to the relevant ISO’s and BRCGS standards. Specific responsibilities Support in driving compliance with formal accreditations IOS’s and BRCGS standards. Understanding and use of Control Plans Inspection processes SPC (Statistical Process Control) Root Cause Analysis CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) QMS (Quality Management Systems) Knowledge of quality control methods Ability to handle customer complaints Conducting failure analysis on returned products Experience with RCA and 8D methodologies Data analysis for KPIs (dashboard and trend analysis) Main elements of role The following list is not exhaustive, and roles and responsibilities may need to be altered or updated from time to time to meet the changing needs of the business, specifics will be included in training and tasks matrix and within agreed objectives. Support to maintain and ensuring continued improvement in Systems procedures. Collaboratively agreeing best practices. ● Updating instructions, records as and when required and training respectively. • Specifying quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers. Working with SMT and Q&C Managers to establish procedures, standards and systems, further SOP for Epicor System for each department. ● Training of staff on process and quality requirements ● Conduct and manage internal quality, process, 6S and other audits to continuously drive standards up. Authority To request change procedures, accordingly, continuously improving practices, complying with Certifications held by the company. Support decision on disposing, reworking product out of specification. Stopping production, machine with a reason for any QHSE risk matters. Skills, Knowledge and experience Understanding standards to the Company regarding ISO’s (45001,14001 and 9001) Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, BRCGS. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous quality and process inspection role within a manufacturing organisation. Systems Evaluation Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system. High attention to details to ensure proper manufacturing, installation and operation of products. Good analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analyses and devise suitable preventive action plans. Sincere work ethic for adhering to standards and managing potential harmful effects on timelines and budget. Excellent interpersonal and team-player skills. Good mathematical skills and proficiency with computer software such as MSO and company systems. When You'll Be Working You will be working a 40-hour week between Monday to Friday.
